Israeli forces conducted airstrikes on Yemen's capital Sanaa and the northern Al-Jawf governorate on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, killing at least 35 people and wounding 131 others according to Houthi health ministry spokesman Anees Alasbahi, in the latest escalation between Israel and the Iran-backed Houthi militant group.

Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed that the Israeli Defense Forces struck Houthi military camps where operatives were gathered, targeting both the group's propaganda apparatus and operational infrastructure as part of ongoing military operations against the organization.

The IDF stated the strikes were conducted in response to recent Houthi ballistic missile and explosive drone attacks on Israel, with the operation involving over 10 Israeli Air Force fighter jets that conducted several aerial refuelings during the approximately 1,800-kilometer mission to avoid Saudi airspace.

Al-Masirah, the Houthi-controlled satellite news channel, reported that one strike hit a military headquarters building in central Sanaa, causing multiple casualties and damaging neighboring houses, while residents described hearing violent explosions throughout the capital.

Houthi-backed President Mahdi al-Mashat vowed to continue attacks against Israel following the strikes, warning Israelis to "stay alarmed since the response is coming without fail" as the tit-for-tat exchanges between both sides persist amid the ongoing regional conflict.
