This Indonesian Footballer Could Be the World's Fastest After Insane Sprint
When it comes to naming the world's fastest footballer, the same old player always crop up. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Hector Bellerin, Neymar, Theo Walcott and Gareth Bale are all widely regarded as the quickest on the planet.
With 96 pace, the Gabon international is ranked the fastest player on FIFA 18, with Jonathan Biabiany in second (also 96) and Bellerin third (95).
As for the rest of the top 10, in terms of the bigger names, Bale is ranked seventh with 94 pace and Manchester City's Leroy Sane is eighth, also 94.
If evidence was needed of why Aubameyang is football's fastest player, back in 2013, he ran 30 metres in 3.7 seconds.
Quite incredibly, the striker's time over 30m was eight hundredths of a second quicker than Usain Bolt managed during his world-record 100m sprint in Berlin eight years ago.
However, Aubameyang's title as the world's fastest footballer could be under threat if Indonesian footballer Terens Puhiri has anything to say about it.
Few weeks ago, Terens Puhiri created a global splash after latest goal footage went viral worldwide, of course for being absolutely rapid. Puhiri is a 21-year-old, 5ft 5in winger who plays for Borneo FC in Indonesia's First Division.
The 21-year-old's strike against Mitra Kukar has been causing a stir on social media because of the dramatic pace he displays in the process.
Starting well in his own half, Puhiri goes from a standing start to tapping to ball into the opposition's net in under ten seconds. It was enough evidence for many Twitter users to speculate whether he may be the fastest player in world football.
It's easy to see why Puhiri is being tipped as the new world's fastest player and now a lot of football fans are starting to believe that could be true. Football world went crazy by sharing his footage.
