With everything that can, and often does, go wrong with air travel, it’s more important than ever for travelers to maintain control over the few factors that they can when it comes to planning their trip. One of those is deciding which airports to travel to, from and through.

As we know, Southeast Asia is home to some of the best airlines, and airports in the world. World's best airport is located in this region. Singapore's Changi Airport. Southeast Asia also home to 2 out of 10 five-stars airlines in the world, namely Singapore Airlines and Garuda Indonesia.

We've talked much about the airlines and their punctuality rating. How about airports in the region? How punctual are they?  OAG, a U.K.-based air travel information service OAG has released its new Punctuality Report for April 2018  on how airports are performing when it comes to getting flights in and out on time.

According to OAG, in order to be considered, airlines and airports had to be able to provide data for at least 80% of all scheduled flights. Flights that arrived or departed within 14 minutes and 59 seconds of their scheduled times counted as achieving on-time performance (OTP), while cancelled flights were not taken into account.

Seasia has gathered 20 airports in Southeast Asia which handle over 1,000 flights and ranked their punctuality. Surabaya's Juanda Airport ranks #1 with a stunning 95.5% punctuality rating, followed by another Indonesian airport, namely Pontianak's Supadio Airport with 90.20%. Southeast Asia's powerhouse, Singapore's Changi Airport comes #7 with 87.10% OTP, but handled the most flights  (15,332) compared to other airports in the list.
