Spotify Wrapped: Southeast Asia's top streamed artists in 2021

With Spotify Wrapped for 2021, the streaming site shows customers their own listening data for the year, along with the most popular performers in various countries – including Southeast Asia – throughout the world.

BTS reinforced their dominance of the world by being the most-streamed artist in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines throughout the course of 2019.

Only Justin Bieber, who appeared in the top five most-streamed musicians lists in all six of the nations listed above, could challenge their enormous popularity gap. Additionally, Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande were prominent foreign musicians in the area.

While Tulus, Nadin Amizah, Rizky Febian, and Ardhito Pramono occupied the top four spots in the local artist rankings for the Indonesian singer-songwriter Pamungkas.
Ben & Ben and Moira Dela Torre both maintained their positions at the top of the Philippine music scene. R&B artist Arthur Nery, Zack Tabudlo, and rapper Skusta Clee completed the top five.

Gentle Bones was Singapore's second most popular homegrown performer, behind JJ Lin. Their most recent track, 'At Least I Had You,' features a collaboration between the two musicians. Tanya Chua, Stefanie Sun, and Benjamin Kheng, a member of The Sam Willows, rounded out the top five local artists.
Superstar diva Dato' Siti Nurhaliza led a list that included hip-hop artist Yonnyboii, Naim Daniel, renowned alt-rockers Hujan and singer-songwriter Haqem Rusli, among others, in Malaysia.

Sn Tùng M-TP, a Vietnamese musician, came in at number five on the country's most streamed artist list, slightly ahead of BTS. In the local rankings, he jumped to the top spot, with fellow top five most-streamed artist en in second place. Chillies, V.A., and Amee, a V-pop sensation, followed.

Drake, Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, BTS, and Drake are projected to be the world's top five most streamed artists on Spotify in 2021.

BTS was Thailand's top streamed artist, while Thailand's Three Man Down held on to the top spot they had previously held with 2020's Wrapped. Billkin, Tilly Birds, Ink Waruntorn, and pop duet SERIOUS BACON rounded up the remainder of Thailand's local top ten list.
