In the spirit of celebrating the 78th birthday of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, Bank Indonesia (BI) took a significant step by launching its latest innovation, namely QRIS Tuntas. This is a concrete proof of Bank Indonesia's determination to continuously develop QRIS functions in line with the Payment System Blueprint (BSPI) 2025 plan. The main objective is to accelerate economic inclusion and digital finance, while sustainably supporting economic stability and growth.

BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said that QRIS Tuntas is a revolutionary solution that allows people to conduct a range of financial transactions without relying on the physical presence of ATMs. Through QRIS Tuntas, users have the flexibility to easily make money transfers and cash withdrawals by simply scanning the QRIS code through payment applications connected to various Payment Service Providers (PSPs) of banks and non-bank institutions.

Perry Warjiyo added that QRIS Tuntas also offers other innovative features. Users can use the source of funds from the e-money server base and will also receive notifications each time a transaction is made, ensuring transparency and security at every step of the transaction.

The QRIS Tuntas launch event, which was attended by Perry Warjiyo at the BI Complex on August 17, 2023, also revealed the great mission behind this innovation. QRIS Tuntas is expected to be able to promote financial inclusion across all levels of society, especially in remote, outermost and underdeveloped (3T) areas in Indonesia. By providing wider digital access, QRIS Tuntas becomes an important bridge in connecting people to modern financial services.

In addition, one of the important aspects highlighted by Perry Warjiyo is the more affordable service fees in QRIS Tuntas. He compared the transfer fee of Rp 6,500 in QRIS Tuntas with transaction fees at ATMs that reach Rp 7,500 and cash withdrawal fees at agents that range from Rp 10,000 to Rp 20,000. Perry Warjiyo firmly stated that this is a kind of gift from BI to the community, upholding the principle of fairness in financial access.

QRIS TUNTAS will be implemented from September 1, 2023 to no later than November 30, 2023 for Payment Service Providers (PJP) that have met the requirements to develop the feature.
