The Philippines won the title of Best Tourism Destination in the sixth Golden Dragon Awards of the Russian-Asian Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Association (RAUIE). The award was received by Philippine Ambassador to Moscow Igor Bailen during the ceremony held on December 15.
In his speech, Ambassador Bailen invited members of the European Union to consider the Philippines as their next tourism and investment destination.
Bailen highlighted that the Philippines has more than 7,000 islands that offer sunny and warm weather throughout the year. In addition, the government has created an open and transparent business environment, marked by the recent passage of landmark laws that encourage partnerships with foreign companies. Bailen also highlighted the Philippines' economic reform efforts, particularly in the basic public services sector, which now allows up to 100 percent foreign ownership.
During the event, RAUIE President and Chairman Vitaly Mankevich praised the Philippines for its hard work, innovation and unwavering commitment to facilitating direct flights between Moscow and Manila.
Mankevich expressed optimism about the potential positive impact of direct flights on the success of the Philippine tourism industry. He also highlighted RAUIE's support in creating favorable conditions for an increased number of Russian tourists to visit the Philippines.
He emphasized that the award is not only a source of pride for the Philippine tourism industry, but also plays a role in enhancing the positive image of the Philippines as a friendly and attractive tourist destination worldwide.
As a central platform for the implementation of government programs and private initiatives in the Russian and Asian business sectors, RAUIE has been a key local partner contributing to the progress of the Philippines through mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment cooperation.
