The Ministry of Justice of South Korea has announced the extension of the pilot e-group visa program for citizens of the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam for another two years. This program, which aims to attract tourists from these three countries, has been in place since June 2023. The e-group visa is available for groups of at least three people, including corporate incentive tours, educational tours, and regular tours.
Tourists eligible for this visa must enter and exit South Korea using the same mode of transportation. Government-accredited travel agencies will submit e-group visa applications online through the Korea Visa Portal.
The program has successfully doubled the number of group visits from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam to South Korea from 23,781 in early 2023 to 47,397 by the end of the year, reaching 56,427 in the first five months of 2024. South Korea's tourism industry is expected to set a new record with a contribution of $69.3 billion, an increase of 13.6 percent.
The Ministry of Finance also announced the K-culture visa for young foreigners and expanded the digital nomad visa, allowing individuals to work for up to two years and bring their families.
