Malaysia Airlines welcomes its first four indigenous cabin crew members. These individuals, Amyisha Nurshahira A/P Rosman (Jakun Tribe), Sarah Elissa Tang A/P Aman (Temuan Tribe), Veena Angelina Bte Jincis (Semai Tribe), and Alzariza A/P Alwi (Semai Tribe), are part of the 56 cabin crew members who graduated from Batch 1/2024 and Batch 2/2024 at MAB Academy.
They have completed an intensive three-month training program and have been serving Malaysia Airlines flights since May 7, 2024. The cabin crew members have undergone comprehensive training modules, including makeup, public speaking, hospitality, first aid, hazardous materials handling, and aircraft understanding, to ensure they meet Malaysia Airlines' standards of service excellence.
The graduation ceremony for Batch 1/2024 and Batch 2/2024 of Malaysia Airlines' indigenous cabin crew training program was held on July 11, 2024. The event was attended by YBhg. Datuk Hajah Sapiah binti Dato' Mohd Nor, Director General of the Department of Orang Asli Development.
The recruitment of indigenous cabin crew members is a result of collaboration with the Department of Orang Asli Development, which began in December 2023. Recruitment took place in Pahang, Perak, and Johor, and included various ethnic groups such as Jakun, Temuan, Semai, and others.
As part of its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity in the workplace, Malaysia Airlines will also participate in the Special Career Carnival for Orang Asli on August 24 and 25, 2024. This carnival will focus on recruiting cabin crew and pilot cadets.
In addition to recruiting indigenous cabin crew members, Malaysia Airlines continues its efforts to attract international cabin crew. The goal is to promote diversity and provide personalized service to global customers. The airline aims to recruit from key markets such as India, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
Malaysia Airlines achieved a significant milestone by being named among the Top 10 Best Airline Cabin Crews in the world at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2024. This marks a notable improvement from the 17th position achieved in 2023.
This award affirms the dedication of Malaysia Airlines' cabin crew in providing top-notch service to passengers. The recognition is based on their outstanding performance in hard service aspects, such as technical skills, efficiency, and attention to detail, as well as soft service aspects, such as staff enthusiasm, attitude, warmth, and friendliness.
