A First-Class Marina for Indonesia's Yachting Industry

According to The Iconomics, Ulf Backlund, President and Director of Marina Development Indonesia, noted Indonesia's increasing appeal within the international yachting community.

This growing demand makes it clear that Indonesia deserves a first-class marina to meet the expectations of global yacht owners.

"Indonesia deserves a first-class marina that reflects its status as the world’s new yachting paradise," said Ulf Backlund, emphasizing the country’s potential as a major player in the international yachting industry.

Strategically Located Marina in Benoa

Strategically located in Benoa, just 15 minutes from Bali's international airport, the marina is set to become the main yacht hub in the region. Known as the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH), this facility aims to attract and serve yacht owners from around the globe, further strengthening Bali’s reputation as a premier maritime tourism destination.

In developing this project, MDI has partnered with companies such as SF Marina, renowned for building floating breakwaters and concrete pontoons.

SF Marina, a Swedish company with over a century of experience, is collaborating to build the marina with world-class standards, utilizing locally produced components through their Indonesian partner, SF Marina Indonesia. Notable projects by SF Marina include Pier 66 and Marina Port Vell in Barcelona.

Additionally, MDI has joined forces with Plus Marine, an Italian maritime services company, to install power and water pedestals with remote monitoring systems using SmartCloud technology.
