Jumbo: Indonesian Animation Goes Global!

Visinema Studios' animated film Jumbo is set to make history! Scheduled for release in March 2025, it will be shown in 17 countries, making it the first Indonesian animated film to reach a global audience.

In Indonesia, Jumbo will hit theaters during Eid 2025.

The official poster features Don and his friends in Kampung Seruni, ready for an exciting adventure on their modified motorbike. With themes of family, friendship, and courage, Jumbo promises a heartwarming story for all ages.

Although the full list of countries where Jumbo will be on-screen is yet to be announced, one thing is clear: Jumbo will bring Indonesian animation to the world stage!

Five Years of Dedication

Visinema Studios emphasizes that Ju mbo is a 100% homegrown creation, crafted entirely by an Indonesian team. Chief Content Officer and producer Anggia Kharisma revealed that nearly 200 people were involved in the creative process, making Jumbo a major milestone for the nation’s animation industry.

The film’s production began in 2019 and concluded in 2024—a journey that took five to six years. Despite the long process, Anggia expressed her satisfaction with the final result. She described the project as a blend of hard work, smart solutions, and the unwavering dedication of local talents.

"For All of Us – Our Children and the Child Within Us"

Ahead of its release, Visinema Studios has unveiled the official trailer and poster for Jumbo, introducing the adventurous story of Don—a young boy who is often bullied and strives to prove himself through a storytelling competition in his village.

In the film, Don is a cheerful child who treasures a book left behind by his late parents. After their passing, he is lovingly raised by his grandmother, Oma.

Together with his best friends, Nurman and Mae, Don plans to participate in a talent competition. However, his beloved book is stolen by Atta, a jealous friend.

The adventure takes an exciting turn when Don meets Meri, a girl from another dimension who is also searching for her parents. The four of them embark on a journey filled with challenges that test their friendship and courage.

Jumbo is packed with laughter, warmth, and life lessons, making it a special treat for Indonesian families. Anggia Kharisma, the film's producer, describes it as a precious gift set to be released during Eid 2025.

"JUMBO is a special experience full of laughter, warmth, and heartwarming moments. This film is made for all of us—our children and the child within us. Released during Eid, it is a valuable gift for Indonesian families, reminding us of the values of friendship, togetherness, empathy, and love," said Anggia Kharisma, Chief Content Officer of Visinema Studios and producer of JUMBO.
