Viet Nam’s Tourism Soars, American Tourists Dominate Early 2025 Visits

Viet Nam continues to solidify its position as a top tourist destination in Southeast Asia, with a surge in interest from international travelers, particularly from the United States and Australia. 

According to recent reports, the United States ranked first in the number of searches related to Viet Nam tourism in early 2025, followed by Australia and India. The country’s stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and authentic culinary experiences remain major attractions that captivate global visitors.

Citing VNExpress International, global searches for accommodations in Viet Nam surged by 15-30% from late November 2024 to January 2025 compared to the previous year's period. 

This upward trend continued into February, with search volumes rising by 30-45%. The enthusiasm of American tourists is also reflected in their growing number of visits. In November 2024, Viet Nam recorded 69,237 arrivals from the United States, which increased to 73,000 in December and soared to 92,000 in January 2025, marking an annual growth of 25%.

Viet Nam also set a new record in January 2025 when it welcomed 2.1 million foreign tourists, the highest monthly figure in the country’s tourism history. With this promising growth trend, the Viet Namese government has set a target of 22-23 million international visitors in 2025, surpassing the 17.6 million recorded in the previous year.

Several factors have contributed to the rapid growth of Viet Nam’s tourism sector, including improved infrastructure, aggressive promotional campaigns, and enhanced accessibility for travelers. With its strengthened strategies, Viet Nam is ready to welcome more visitors and further establish itself as a leading global tourism destination.
