K-Pop fanbases from Southeast Asia can now find a deeper emotional connection with the South Korean music scene. A growing number of prominent K-Pop stars actually share the exact same regional roots.
The presence of the Southeast Asian K-Pop Idols bring regional pride among the fanbase. Here are six remarkable K-Pop idols who officially represent Southeast Asia on the K-Pop stage.
BLACKPINK's Most-Followed K-Pop Idol, Lisa from Thailand
Social media records fell when Lalisa Manobal reached over 106 million followers on Instagram. She holds the record as the most-followed K-Pop idol on the platform. Within BLACKPINK, she occupies the crucial main dancer and lead rapper positions. The Buriram-born artist originally arrived in South Korea as a YG Entertainment trainee in 2010.
Her official group debut followed in August 2016 with the release of the single album Square One. She later expanded her career through the solo track Money, which entered the global music charts.
NCT's Multi-Unit Thai Performer, Ten from Thailand
April 2016 marked the official entry of NCT Ten or Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul into the K-Pop spotlight under SM Entertainment. He operates as the main dancer and vocalist across multiple units. His promotional activities include NCT U, WayV, and SuperM. He had previously secured his place in the agency during the 2013 global auditions in Bangkok.
He released his first self-titled solo mini-album, TEN, in February 2024. The project featured tracks entirely in English to cater to his broad international target market.
Recent Hearts2Hearts Debut, Carmen from Indonesia
Nyoman Ayu Carmenita or Carmen recently made headlines as part of the new generation of Indonesian artists in Seoul. She took on her commercial role as one of the main vocalists for SM Entertainment's group, Hearts2Hearts, in early 2026.
Her introduction followed a long-standing history of Indonesian trainees attempting to break into major South Korean labels. She officially participates in the group's debut promotional cycle across various broadcasting channels.
UNIS's Record-Breaking Youth, Elisia from the Philippines
A young Filipina singer named Elisia Parmisano currently holds the main vocalist position for the international group UNIS. Born in April 2009, the young idol famously bypassed the usual survival show stress during Universe Ticket in 2023. Her debut spot was officially locked before the final episode even aired due to securing 784,811 points in the global fan voting system.

TEMPEST's First SEA Member, Hanbin from Viet Nam
Yuehua Entertainment signed Hanbin or Ngo Ngoc Hung to an exclusive contract in October 2021. This preparation led to his official debut with TEMPEST in March 2022. He currently fills the lead dancer and vocalist positions within the boy group's lineup.
Hanbin originally built his massive international following during his run on the 2020 reality show I-LAND. He remains the first Vietnamese artist to successfully debut under a prominent South Korean entertainment agency.
