This festive season kicks off with Singapore on 9 August, commemorating its independence from Malaysia in 1965. Just a few days later, Pakistan marks its Independence Day on 14 August, celebrating its founding in 1947 following the partition from British India. On 15 August, multiple countries across Asia celebrate their national independence. India celebrates its freedom from British rule in 1947 with large-scale national celebrations, while Bahrain, North Korea, and South Korea also commemorate their respective independence on this day.
