Male Smoking Rates in Southeast Asia, 2022

According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2022, Indonesia leads Southeast Asia with the highest male smoking rates, reaching 73.6%. Following closely behind are Myanmar with 69.4% and Laos with 64.5%.

Conversely, Cambodia stands out with the lowest male smoking rate in the region at 27.3%. This discrepancy highlights significant variations in smoking prevalence among males across Southeast Asian countries and underscores the importance of targeted public health interventions to address tobacco use and its associated health risks.
