Singapore became the country with the highest population density in Asia in 2024!
According to Visual Capitalist citing sources such as the World Population Review, USGs, UN, and WorldPop, Singapore recorded a population density of 8,402 people per square kilometer, making it the country with the highest density in all of Asia, not just in Southeast Asia. In second place, Bahrain recorded a population density of 1,892 people per square kilometer.
Meanwhile, among other Southeast Asian countries, the Philippines ranked second in the region and 11th in Asia with a population density of 397 people per square kilometer, while Vietnam ranked third in Southeast Asia and 14th in Asia with a population density of 300 people per square kilometer.
