Forbes Advisor has released its 2024 report on the riskiest cities for tourists, revealing the destinations that pose the highest safety concerns. According to the report, Caracas, Venezuela tops the list as the most dangerous city for tourists, with a score of 100.00. Karachi, Pakistan, follows closely with a score of 93.12, and Yangon, Myanmar ranks third with a score of 91.67.
The report assessed 60 international cities using seven key metrics to determine their safety for travelers. Other cities in the top five include Lagos, Nigeria (91.54), and Manila, Philippines (91.49). Jakarta, Indonesia, also appears prominently at number 11 with a score of 81.98.
The report highlights the increased risks faced by tourists in these regions, underscoring the importance of exercising caution and staying informed about local conditions when traveling to these cities. In contrast, Singapore is recognized as the safest city for tourists, reflecting significant differences in safety across global destinations.
Overall, the findings serve as a valuable resource for travelers seeking to make informed decisions about their destinations, particularly in Southeast Asia where Yangon, Manila, and Jakarta are noted among the top 15 riskiest cities.
