The Prix Versailles, a prestigious international architectural award hosted by UNESCO, has recognized Changi Airport's newly-upgraded Terminal 2 in Singapore and Suvarnabhumi Airport’s Midfield Satellite Terminal 1 (SAT-1) in Thailand as two of the world’s most beautiful airports for 2024. This annual award highlights exceptional contemporary projects with a focus on aesthetic value, sustainability, and traveler experience.
Changi Airport: A Nature-Inspired Haven
Changi Airport's Terminal 2, which reopened last year after over three years of renovations, has been praised for its nature-inspired design. The terminal features lush green columns adorned with plants, creating a vibrant atmosphere. One of its standout attractions is the 14-meter-tall digital waterfall, The Wonderfall, which adds a futuristic touch to the departure hall. The transit area offers exciting experiences like the two-story Lotte Duty Free Wines & Spirits store, where travelers can enjoy a robot bartender serving custom cocktails. Additionally, the upper-level lounge offers a whiskey sampling experience, combining convenience and luxury for passengers.
Suvarnabhumi Airport: Aesthetic Excellence in Thailand
Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand, with its Midfield Satellite Terminal 1 (SAT-1), has also earned accolades for its aesthetic appeal and enhanced traveler experiences. Announced by Thai Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit, this terminal showcases the airport's commitment to ecological and social sustainability while offering travelers a comfortable and stylish environment.
