AirAsia X will launch four weekly direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Istanbul starting November 14, 2025, marking the low-cost carrier's long-awaited return to Europe after 13 years since discontinuing London services in 2012.

CEO Benyamin Ismail announced this strategic expansion will operate from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, providing seamless connections to over 117 international and 40 domestic destinations, while offering Southeast Asian travelers affordable access to Europe.

Ambassador of Türkiye to Malaysia H.E. Emir Salim Yüksel praised the route as "a tangible step in strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Malaysia and Türkiye" that will boost tourism, business links, and people-to-people engagement.

AirAsia X is offering introductory promotional fares starting from RM499 (approximately USD110) for economy and RM3,999 (USD945) for Premium Flatbed, available for booking until August 20, 2025 for travel through September 2026.

This expansion positions Istanbul as AirAsia X's gateway to Europe, enabling connections to over 130 destinations across the airline's network while serving as a strategic hub for Fly-Thru services that eliminate baggage rechecking requirements.
