Malaysia leads Southeast Asia in AI image creation with Gemini

Malaysia has emerged as Southeast Asia’s leading country for AI image generation, according to Google’s Gemini Report 2026.

The report found one in five Malaysian users actively create images with AI, driven by the popularity of “Nano Banana” in the Gemini app.

Malay language prompts also doubled from the previous year, highlighting Malaysia’s growing adoption of AI through multilingual and mobile-first usage.
