Malaysia has committed to over $240 billion in purchases and investments with the United States to help reduce the significant trade gap between both countries.

Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz announced this major economic commitment to Parliament, representing approximately RM1.02 trillion in bilateral trade arrangements.

The comprehensive package includes $150 billion allocated for high-tech goods procurement and $70 billion designated for capital investment flows into the US market.

This strategic initiative aims to secure US tariff relief, potentially reducing retaliatory tariffs to 19 percent while addressing Malaysia's substantial trade surplus with America.

The agreement demonstrates Malaysia's proactive approach to rebalancing bilateral trade relations and strengthening economic cooperation with one of its key trading partners in the global marketplace.
