A lost American Shorthair cat named Nub Tang became an internet sensation after being "arrested" and photographed in a mugshot at Bangkok's Khlong Tan Police Station on May 9, following repeated attacks on officers who were trying to help reunite her with her owner.
Bangkok police officer Da Parinda Pakeesuk shared the amusing incident on Facebook, explaining that the feisty feline, wearing a pink harness, scratched and bit several on-duty officers after being brought to the station by a concerned citizen who found her wandering in the Suan Luang district.
Following proper police protocol with humorous flair, officers took paw print records and created a mock arrest file for the "suspect," with Pakeesuk jokingly posting that the cat had been "charged with assaulting police officers" and asking her owner to come bail her out.
The viral Facebook post attracted thousands of shares and comments from amused netizens worldwide, with some even offering to adopt the spirited cat, though Pakeesuk emphasized their main goal was reuniting Nub Tang with her rightful owner who arrived the following day.
In a playful finale, Pakeesuk penned a humorous police report from the cat's perspective stating "I was just hungry, I did not mean to bite anyone," while photos showed the unrepentant feline lounging comfortably in the officer's car next to her mock criminal records.
