Viet Nam has emerged as Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing tourist destination, surpassing Singapore with 17.5 million international visitors in 2024 and regaining 98% of its pre-pandemic tourism business—outpacing Thailand and Singapore in recovery speed.

The country’s tourism boom has been fueled by key factors, including the introduction of direct flights from the U.S., extended 90-day electronic visas, and visa-free travel for major markets like France, Germany, Japan, and South Korea.

Luxury tourism is also on the rise, with the opening of high-end hotels such as the Regent Phu Quoc, Capella Hanoi, and JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon, along with the expansion of the Michelin Guide, which has showcased Viet Nam’s vibrant culinary scene to the world.

With ambitious plans to attract 23 million visitors by 2025 and the upcoming launch of Long Thành International Airport to boost capacity, Vietnam is well on its way to becoming one of the most visited destinations in the region, rivaling Malaysia and Thailand in the coming years.
