Starbucks Vietnam officially opened its newest and most extraordinary location on March 14, 2026, at the peak of Fansipan Mountain in Sa Pa, Lao Cai province, earning the title of the highest Starbucks store in all of Asia.
Perched at an altitude of 3,063 meters above sea level, the store sits within the Cloud Yard area of the Sun World Fansipan Legend complex, offering visitors sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding Northwest mountain range.
The store's design draws inspiration from Sa Pa's diverse architectural heritage, featuring a light green exterior, warm wooden interiors, and locally woven fabrics on its pillars, creating a space that blends modern coffee culture with the indigenous identity of Viet Nam's Northwest region.
To mark the opening, Starbucks Vietnam launched a limited-edition Cloud Macchiato, a beverage inspired by Sa Pa's signature sea of clouds, available at all Starbucks stores nationwide from March 14 to 20, while Chi Nguyen, Communications Director of Starbucks Vietnam, described the location as a proud milestone representing "the intersection of coffee craftsmanship and the culture of Vietnam's Northwest."
Pham Tien Dung, Standing Vice Chairman of the Sa Pa Ward People's Committee, called the presence of a global brand like Starbucks at Fansipan's summit vivid proof of Sa Pa's transformation, noting the opening's added significance as it coincided with the 10th anniversary of the Fansipan cable car system, which has helped place the region on the global tourism map.
