Indonesia’s aviation sector reached a new milestone as Soekarno–Hatta International Airport (Jakarta) climbed to 22nd globally, while I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (Bali) secured 67th place in the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2026, announced in London on March 18. The rankings reflect continued improvements by PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) in global competitiveness.
According to official data, Soekarno–Hatta rose from 25th in 2025 to 22nd in 2026, continuing its steady climb from 28th in 2024. Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport also improved significantly, moving from 72nd to 67th globally. These results mark Indonesia’s strongest performance in the prestigious global airport ranking to date.
President Director of InJourney Airports, Mohammad R. Pahlevi, stated that the achievement reflects “significant progress amid global competition,” driven by transformation programs launched since 2024. These efforts focus on infrastructure upgrades, operational processes, and human resource quality to deliver world-class passenger experiences.
The Skytrax World Airport Awards are considered among the most credible benchmarks in aviation, based on passenger surveys conducted across more than 100 countries from August 2025 to February 2026. Evaluations cover the entire airport journey, including check-in, security, immigration, transit, and departure gates.
Beyond rankings, Soekarno–Hatta also entered the Top 10 Best Airport Staff in Asia and World’s Best Immigration Service categories. Looking ahead, InJourney Airports targets a Top 10 global ranking by 2029, positioning Indonesia as a stronger aviation hub while boosting tourism, connectivity, and long-term economic growth.
