As the world's most prestigious motorsports arena, MotoGP championships have always been eyed for many aspects including the apparel of each rider.

One of the most appealing parts is the helmet. The brand, its intricate and detailed helmet designs -- it's no doubt being one of many much-talked topics among the biggest supporters and fans.

For this year's championship, Seasia spotted this 'presence' of Southeast Asia on this particular apparel.

Below is a little introduction and history of the Top 5 MotoGP Helmet Brands in 2018 championships and one of them, is from this region:

1. AGV

The Italian company founded in 1946 by Gino Amisano has its headquarters in Alessadnria, Peidmount, Italy.

AGV is owned by Dainees and started by making leather seats and motorcycle saddles. They specialize in Moto GP helmets and have Valentino Rossi as their honorary president, a 7-time world champion of MotoGP.

2. SHOEI

This Japanese company was founded by Eitaro Kamata back in 1959. The company was founded in 1959, but began production of industry as an independent entity a year before that, in 1958.

They were the first to use Carbon fibre and later Kevlar to make helmets are known for their lightweight helmets. They were also the ones to introduce Dual Liner Ventilation.

3. KYT

KYT is the Indonesian helmet brand that exist in MotoGP 2018.

This brand was born as a "Racing Idea Project" inspired by its founder Mr Eddy Tedjakusuma, who since 1980 has been successful to create PT TARA group as one of the biggest helmet production manufacturing in the world until today.

It is worn by Aleix Espargaro from Aprilia Racing Team Gresini. KYT also hook Xavier Simeon and Simone Corsi in Moto2 and Andrea Locatelli in Moto3, this year.

PT TKI has a factory located in Lippo Cikarang Industrial Estate and has about 750 employees.

The factory has a production capacity of more than 2 million helmets per year.

4. ARAI

Founded in 1926 by Hirotake Arai, the company expanded and now sell helmets in U.S. Arai have always been proud about the fact that all their helmets are hand-built.

They rank first in Overall Satisfaction, Styling and Ventilation, which were three out of the four categories in a study.

5. SHARK

This French company was founded in 1986. They have around 600+ employees in their Marseilles headquarters.

Shark has a vast experience in the racing arena, and their strong research and development center has helped them grow their business.
