Genting Resort’s First World Hotel is definitely famous for its affordable rates, but did you know that it also holds the Guinness World Record for the “world’s largest hotel”?

The massive property comprises of two colourful buildings with 6,118 rooms in total.

Back in 2006, First World was actually the world’s first at 6,118 rooms, but its crown was later stolen by The Palazzo, an extension of The Venetian in Las Vegas, which has 7,117 rooms (4,049 rooms, 3,068 suites). However, in 2015, First World swooped in and took back the crown and regained its title of world’s largest hotel after opening a new block.

First World Hotel is made up of two towers, Tower 1 and Tower 2 (plus an extension known as Tower 2 Annex). It holds 3,164 standard rooms, 292 deluxe rooms, 649 deluxe triple rooms, 480 superior deluxe rooms, and 136 world club rooms. Over their nine years of operation since their record in 2006, the hotel has housed over 35.5 million guests.

However, it looks like First World Hotel has a contender because a hotel in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, is set to beat its record with a crazy total of 10,000 rooms! But, it's still under construction after some major delays.
