The first season of Indonesia’s Next Top Model will be aired this Saturday, November 28th on NET TV. This is the first time Indonesia will have its own televised modeling competition.
The show that adapted from America’s Next Top Model and Asia’s Next Top Model, has counted 16 finalists to be chosen from all over Indonesia who joined online audition in August.
The judges are coming from celebrities such as famous actress and model Luna Maya, Patricia Gouw as a former finalist of Asia’s Next Top Model, and internet personality Deddy Corbuzier, while choreographer Panca Makmun will act as a mentor.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Patricia Gouw said that the competition could lead to open the door to opportunities beyond modeling for finalists.
She added that she got the opportunities to become a broadcaster, presenter, YouTuber, and many other things in the entertainment industry soon as she came home from the 2016 Asia’s Next Top Model and become the runner-up in the competition.
“The criticism from the judges during the competition only made me a stronger contender in the show in real life.” She said.
Furthermore, Luna Maya who also feels excited said “the modeling business in Indonesia was prepared and ready to welcome newcomers.” She added, “Our modeling industry was once dominated by foreign [models], which is weird because we have a lot of Indonesian talent” (wng).
There is less than 450 participants in total who got the requirements were selected through virtual interviews and psychological test and only 16 participants were chosen to be in the TV screen.
How's it? Are you looking forward to seeing our best Indonesia’s model?
