Southeast Asia is home to many long rivers, many of which have played a vital role in the development and history of the region. Here is a list of the five longest rivers in Southeast Asia:

  1. Mekong River: The Mekong River is the longest river in Southeast Asia, stretching for more than 2,390 km from its source in the Tibetan Plateau to its mouth in the South China Sea. It flows through six countries in the region, including China, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam, and it is an important transportation and economic artery for the region.

  2. Ayeyarwady River: The Ayeyarwady River is the third-longest river in Southeast Asia, stretching for more than 2,170 km from its source in the Himalayas to its mouth in the Andaman Sea. It flows through Burma (Myanmar) and is an important transportation and economic artery for the country.

  3. Salween River: The Salween River is the second-longest river in Southeast Asia, stretching for more than 1,316  km from its source in the Tibetan Plateau to its mouth in the Andaman Sea. It flows through China, Burma (Myanmar), and Thailand and is an important source of hydroelectric power

  4. Chindwin River: The Chindwin River is the largest tributary of the Ayeyarwady River in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). It originates in the Indian state of Manipur and flows for more than 1200 through Myanmar before joining the Ayeyarwady River. The Chindwin River is an important transportation and economic artery for the region, and it is home to many unique species of plants and animals. It is also a popular destination for tourists and outdoor enthusiasts who come to experience its beauty and majesty.

  5. Kapuas River:The Kapuas River is the longest river in Indonesia, stretching for more than 1,100 miles from its source in the mountains of central Borneo to its mouth in the Java Sea. It flows through the Indonesian provinces of West Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan and is an important transportation and economic artery for the region. The Kapuas River is also home to many unique species of plants and animals and is a popular destination for tourists and outdoor enthusiasts.

Then I was assigned for 1 year in Cambodia, as a country coordinator mostly to deliver developmental programs (water and sanitation, education, livelihood). In 2009, he continued his career as a protocol and HR officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya, and two years later I joined the Political and Economic Section until now, where i have to deal with extensive range of people and government officials, as well as private and government institution troughout eastern Indonesia. I am the founder and Editor-in-Chief in Good News From Indonesia (GNFI), a growing and influential social media movement, and was selected as one of The Most Influential Netizen 2011 by The Marketeers magazine. I also wrote a book on "Fundamentals of Disaster Management in 2007"?, "Good News From Indonesia : Beragam Prestasi Anak Bangsa di dunia"? which was luanched in August 2013, and "Indonesia Bersyukur"? which is launched in Sept 2013.
