This article focuses on the countries with the most skyscrapers over 150 meters tall in Southeast Asia. Here are some of the countries in Southeast Asia that have the most skyscrapers.

Malaysia

Out of 66 countries in the report, Malaysia is ranked as the 6th country with the most skyscrapers in the world. Malaysia has 259 skyscrapers with a height of 150m+, 57 buildings with a height of 200m+, and 5 buildings with a height of 300m+. The most iconic skyscraper in the country is the Petronas Twin Tower, but the tallest building in the country is The Merdeka 118. The building, which was completed in 2023, is 678 meters tall, making it the second tallest building in the world and number one in Southeast Asia.

Ranked 9th, one of the most populous countries in the world is also one of the countries with the most skyscrapers. The country has 134 buildings of 150m+, 49 buildings of 200m+ and 1 building of 300m+. The tallest building in the country is the Autograph Tower, which is 383 meters tall.

 

The Philippines

The Philippines ranks 10th in the report with a total of 127 buildings of 150m+, 39 buildings of 200m+. The tallest building in the thousand-island nation is the Grand Hyatt Manila, which stands at 259 meters. Incidentally, the building, which was completed in 2017, has a unique "curtain wall" facade that maximizes natural light while minimizing heat, helping to reduce the building's energy consumption. Several buildings are currently under construction in the Philippines, one of which will be the country's tallest building, the DDT Sky Tower. At 280 meters high, it is expected to be completed by 2024.  

 

 Thailand

With 126 buildings of 150m+, 27 buildings of 200m+, and 3 buildings of 300m+, Thailand ranks 11th in the world for having the most skyscrapers. The country has two skyscrapers vying for the title of Thailand's tallest building, Magnolias Waterfront Residences Icon Siam and King Power MahaNakhon. In addition, there will be a building in Thailand which claims to be the new tallest building in Thailand, One Bangkok O4H4. At 436m, the building is expected to be completed in 2025.

 

Singapore

Singapore is a country and city that is one of the most prosperous regions in the world. Ranked 13th, Singapore has 95 buildings with a height of 150m+, 33 buildings with a height of 200m+. The country's tallest building is Guoco Tower, which stands at 280 meters.

Guoco Tower, which is part of the Tanjong Pagar Vertical City or Tanjong Pagar Center, defeats the hegemony of three other buildings that reach around 280 meters. These are One Raffles Place which was completed in 1988, UOB Plaza One in 1992 and Republic Plaza in 1995. Guoco Tower is part of the Tanjong Pagar Vertical City or Tanjong Pagar Center. As the tallest building, Guoco Tower defeats the hegemony of three other buildings, namely One Raffles Place, UOB Plaza One and Republic Plaza. 

 

 Vietnam

Vietnam itself ranks 21st with 40 buildings over 150m tall, 8 buildings over 200m tall, and 2 buildings over 300m tall. The tallest building in the Land of the BlueDragon is Vincom Landmark 81 at 461 meters.
