The soon-to-be-opened Jagat Satwa Nusantara Bird Park is not only home to a variety of beautiful Indonesian birds and endemic species. Jagat Satwa Nusantara also has the distinction of being a sanctuary for Indonesia's endemic bird species, Myzomela rote (Myzomela irianawidodoae), which can only be found in wildlife sanctuaries throughout the country.

The bird was named by a leading researcher at BRIN, Prof. Dewi M. Prawiradilaga, as a token of appreciation to the current First Lady of Indonesia, Iriana Joko Widodo. The bird was discovered on Red Island in 2018.

At this bird park, visitors have the rare opportunity to witness and learn more about the diversity of rare bird species that cover the archipelago.

As a wildlife sanctuary, Jagat Satwa Nusantara Bird Park has also successfully implemented the Javan Hawk (Nisaetus bartelsi) breeding program, resulting in an additional population of 2 birds.

This is a significant achievement for Jagat Satwa Nusantara in its efforts to conserve endangered species. This step not only speaks of environmental responsibility, but is also an inspiring concrete effort to preserve biodiversity.

With this glorious achievement, Jagat Satwa Nusantara sees the inauguration of TMII's (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah) New Face as the most appropriate moment to give its name to this pair of Javan Hawks. Jagat Satwa Nusantara hopes that the President of the Republic of Indonesia will be able to name this Javanese Eagle.

The Javanese Eagle itself is a unique creature, found only in its native habitat on the island of Java, where it only breeds once a year. However, in this sanctuary, it has managed to achieve the remarkable feat of incubating 3-4 eggs at a time. This success further reinforces the important role of conservation organizations in the preservation and protection of this endangered species.
