Indonesia has now entered the political years. As in other countries, political events naturally attract attention. Amidst growing democratic dynamics, elections, policy changes, and complex social issues, the political years in Indonesia are never less than dramatic.

As one of the largest and most populous countries in the world, these events not only reflect Indonesia's interesting political journey but also illustrate the strong democratic spirit and people's aspirations for a better future.

This year, Indonesia's political year was different. This is the first year that Indonesia's General Election Commission (KPU) organized the Kirab Pemilu (or can be understood as Election Carnaval).

Coinciding with one year to the polling day of Indonesia's 2024 general election, the KPU held the "Launching of Kirab Pemilu Tahun 2024: One Year to Election Day". This activity with the theme "Election as a Means of National Integration" was launched on Wednesday, February 14, 2023.

According to the KPU website, Kirab Pemilu 2024 aims to socialize and disseminate information about the election to the general public. To achieve this goal, the KPU is working hard to reach out to various elements and groups in society.

This Kirab involves a series of events starting with the release of the Kirab team carrying the flags of the political parties participating in the 2024 elections simultaneously. This team will use the starting flag which will also be released by KPU members and the Secretary General of KPU. They will move to the next regency/city KPU/KIP according to a predetermined route.

Kirab Pemilu 2024 was launched in 7 different locations spread throughout Indonesia. Then, with a relay system, starting from the regency or city where the kirab began, this event will continue in turn, connecting one place to another. By November, it will reach the capital and end at the KPU central office.
