Changi Airport ranks fifth in the world's most luxurious airport rankings, alongside Sydney International Airport in Australia, according to UK-based AllClear Travel Insurance.

Besides Changi, another Southeast Asian airport on the list is Suvarnabhumi International Airport, which ranked 7th. Changi scored 61 points, while Suvarnabhumi International Airport scored 55 points across all evaluated categories.

Among the top 20 airports, Dubai International Airport stands out as the most luxurious (83 points), followed by London Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom (82 points) and Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar (73 points).

The ranking is based on an in-depth analysis of 1,800 airports worldwide, taking into account criteria such as the number of designer shops, access to four- and five-star hotels, exclusive lounges and luxury amenities such as champagne bars and caviar houses.

Although Changi scored highly in several areas, its ranking was hampered by its performance in the luxury hotel category. However, the presence of luxury brands and other amenities contributed to its high ranking.

On the other hand, Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand lost many points due to the lack of champagne and caviar available before departure and the limited number of luxury hotels near the airport.

Who hasn't heard of Changi Airport -  One of the busiest airports in the world, it continues to excel in providing exceptional travel services. More than just a transit point, Changi is a destination in itself, designed to create a stress-free environment. Its lush landscapes, the sound of waterfalls and comfortable ambience make transit at Changi an enjoyable travel experience.

Most of the world's top 20 most luxurious airports are in Asia, with airports in the Middle East and Far East dominating the list.

In North America, only three airports made it into the top 20: John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York (JFK) ranked 11th, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) ranked 16th, and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) ranked 17th.
