MINI has officially launched four of its latest models in Southeast Asia, with Malaysia being the first market to welcome them. The updated MINI family offers four model choices, including the fully electric Cooper SE and Countryman SE ALL4. Their distinctive design, "Charismatic Simplicity," provides a fresh take on the iconic compact car.
The main highlight of this debut is the fully electric MINI Cooper SE, which features a refreshed design of the iconic Mini Cooper. Additionally, MINI also introduced the fully electric MINI Countryman SE ALL4, the MINI JCW Countryman ALL4, and the latest MINI Cooper S, marking a new chapter for the British automotive brand in the Malaysian market.
The latest MINI Cooper SE offers agile performance thanks to its 218 bhp electric motor and a 54.2 kWh battery that can cover up to 402 km on a single charge. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds makes it a fun electric car to drive.
Its minimalist yet elegant interior, dominated by high-quality materials and a central OLED display, provides a modern and comfortable driving experience. The DC fast charging feature also allows drivers to charge the battery up to 80% in less than 30 minutes.
The MINI Countryman SE ALL4 delivers impressive electric performance with an output of 313 bhp and a peak torque of 494 Nm. The 66.5 kWh battery supports a range of up to 432 kilometers on a single charge. The top speed is limited to 180 km/h, and it accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.
On the other hand, the 5th generation MINI Cooper S retains the proven 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo petrol engine, producing 204 bhp and 300 Nm of torque through a 7-speed dual-clutch Steptronic automatic transmission. This car reaches 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds with a top speed of 242 km/h.
These two models present different performance profiles. The Countryman SE ALL4 prioritizes energy efficiency with its electric propulsion system, while the Cooper S relies on an internal combustion engine that provides a more dynamic driving experience.
The JCW Countryman ALL4 offers dynamic driving performance thanks to its 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, producing 300 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. This power is delivered through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and the ALL4 all-wheel-drive system. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. The ALL4 all-wheel-drive system ensures optimal power distribution to all wheels, providing better traction and stability.
The MINI Cooper SE, Cooper S, Countryman SE, and JCW Countryman are offered in various attractive exterior color options, ranging from bright colors to neutral shades. Diverse interior color choices are also available, giving customers the flexibility to customize their vehicles according to personal preferences.
New car buyers will benefit from a 5-year Roadside Assistance program with 24/7 service, including free towing, replacement vehicles, and various other aids.
The standard vehicle warranty period is two years with no mileage limit. However, consumers can opt to extend the warranty and add additional service packages. Specifically for electric models (Cooper SE and Countryman SE ALL4), there is a separate battery warranty for 8 years or 160,000 km.
