BBN Airlines, a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, officially began operations in Indonesia on September 27 with the Jakarta - Surabaya route. As a new airline, BBN Airlines quickly expanded by offering another domestic route, Jakarta - Balikpapan, which has been operating since September 30. Both routes offer daily flights, with a frequency of 7 times a week.
Starting tomorrow, October 2, BBN Airlines will also serve the Jakarta - Denpasar, Bali route, with the same frequency of 7 flights per week. Passengers flying with BBN Airlines can find their services at Terminal 2E, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
BBN Airlines does not limit its operations to domestic routes. In September 2024, the airline successfully obtained a Foreign Operator Permit (FOP) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), paving the way for expanding its flight network to the Asia and Oceania regions.
Fleet and Service
According to information on its official website, BBN Airlines Indonesia operates Boeing 737-800 aircraft, capable of carrying up to 189 passengers. In addition to regular flights, the airline also offers ACMI services, such as aircraft leasing, crew services, maintenance, insurance, as well as charter and air cargo services.
Currently, BBN Airlines Indonesia has three Boeing 737-800 aircraft ready for passenger charter demand, as well as three cargo aircraft of the same model. Additionally, Boeing 737-400 aircraft will be used to serve both domestic and international routes.
In November 2023, BBN Airlines strengthened its fleet with the acquisition of four new aircraft, consisting of one Boeing 737-400SF and three Boeing 737-800NG. The expansion plan continues this year with the addition of seven Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft.
The company is also considering adding Airbus aircraft to its fleet. With growing demand and operational expansion, BBN Airlines Indonesia aims to increase its fleet to 40 aircraft by 2027.

BBN Airlines, or Blue Bird Nordic Airlines Indonesia, was established in Jakarta in August 2022 and operates out of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The airline is a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland.
In December 2023, BBN Airlines received an investment of US$6.2 million (IDR 93.75 billion) from its parent company, bringing the total value of the company to US$14 million (IDR 211.67 billion).
In addition to ACMI services, BBN Airlines also provides maintenance, repair, pilot and crew training, and ground handling services. Its parent company, Avia Solutions Group, operates 199 aircraft worldwide.
BBN Airlines Indonesia obtained its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) for commercial air services in March 2024. The airline operates at a medium level, comparable to Pelita Air and Sriwijaya Air in Indonesia.
Interesting Facts about BBN Airlines Indonesia
Prior to commencing commercial operations, BBN Airlines Indonesia's aircraft were used for charter services by Indonesian government ministries. According to Kompas.com, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs chartered BBN Airlines to transport 20 tons of materials for the rehabilitation of Port Vila International Airport in Vanuatu. In addition, the Ministry of Health used the airline to transport rotavirus vaccines from India, along with other humanitarian aid.
