Thailand's tourism industry is experiencing a remarkable resurgence. With over 31 million international arrivals already recorded in 2024, the country is well on its way to exceeding its year-end goal of 36 million visitors. This surge in tourism has brought significant economic benefits, with an estimated 1.46 trillion baht (US$42.3 billion) injected into the economy.

But Thailand isn't stopping there. The government has declared 2025 the "Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year," aiming to attract a record-breaking 40 million tourists and generate 3.4 trillion baht in revenue.

To achieve this ambitious goal, Thailand is implementing a multi-faceted strategy:

  • Promoting Major Events: High-profile events like MotoGP races and the vibrant Songkran Festival will be leveraged to draw international attention.
  • Enhancing the Visitor Experience: Infrastructure upgrades and streamlined visa processes, including a pan-ASEAN common visa policy, will make travel to and within Thailand smoother and more enjoyable.
  • Launching Targeted Campaigns: Five major campaigns – Grand Festivity, Grand Moment, Grand Privilege, Grand Invitation, and Grand Celebration – will showcase Thailand's diverse offerings and provide enticing incentives for travelers.

By combining exciting events with a focus on improving the overall visitor experience, Thailand is creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for tourists. This proactive approach is key to achieving the nation's ambitious tourism goals and solidifying its position as a premier global destination.
