It’s no exaggeration to call Bali one of the "paradises on Earth." With its breathtaking natural beauty, vibrant traditions, and world-class amenities, the island continues to captivate the world.
The year 2024 marks another milestone for Bali, as the island shines brighter with a series of prestigious awards reaffirming its status as a dream destination.
In September, Bali once again solidified its dominance in global tourism by winning the prestigious Asia's Most Romantic Destination award at the World Travel Awards 2024. This accolade, achieved for the sixth time since 2019, highlights its reputation as a destination offering unparalleled romantic experiences.
Bali Among the World’s Most Beautiful Islands
In addition to being named the most romantic destination, Bali also earned a spot on Conde Nast Traveller’s list of the 71 Most Beautiful Places in the World. This recognition further emphasizes the allure of the Island of the Gods as a tourist haven that combines natural beauty, rich culture, and exceptional hospitality.
Bali offers a unique range of experiences for visitors, from cycling through lush green rice fields and enjoying vibrant beach clubs to finding serenity in sacred temples. With an average year-round temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, the island is the perfect escape from daily routines.
Even more impressively, Bali has recorded an extraordinary recovery in tourism post-pandemic. Last year, 15.5 million tourists visited the island, nearly matching pre-pandemic numbers. In just the first seven months of this year, 3.89 million arrivals were recorded, marking a significant increase compared to the previous year.
Tops Budget Travel Rankings
In addition to its stunning natural beauty, Bali has secured fourth place as one of the World’s Most Affordable Long-Haul Travel Destinations, following Cape Town, Tokyo, and Hoi An.
The latest Holiday Money Report revealed that the average cost of popular tourist items in Bali now stands at £67.70 (US$86), an 8% decrease compared to 2023.
This ranking index is based on a comparative analysis of the average prices of 10 popular tourist commodities across 32 global destinations. The items assessed include beverages like coffee, beer, cola, wine, and cocktails; snacks such as chocolate; daily necessities like bottled water and sunscreen; and traveler-specific items such as mosquito repellent and a full dinner package for two.
