PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), widely recognized by its brand name "Whoosh," is set to increase its operational capacity starting February 1, 2025. The company plans to expand its daily schedule from the current 48 trips to 62 trips, marking a significant step forward in enhancing high-speed rail services in Indonesia.

Citing The Star, Eva Chairunisa, General Manager and Corporate Secretary of PT KCIC, explained that this schedule expansion offers passengers greater convenience, flexibility, and comfort.
"This expanded schedule aims to make it easier for passengers to use Whoosh services by offering more options, enhancing flexibility, and ensuring travel comfort as passenger numbers continue to grow," she stated.

Since its official launch in 2023, Whoosh initially operated with a modest schedule of just 14 daily trips. However, as public demand surged, the company increased the number of daily trips to 28 in November, just one month after commencing operations. By May 2024, the high-speed rail service further expanded to 48 daily trips, reflecting a steady increase in usage.
Chairunisa highlighted the increasing popularity of Whoosh, noting that the service has transported over 7.5 million passengers since its commercial launch in October 2023.

She emphasized that adding more daily trips reflects PT KCIC’s dedication to providing safe, comfortable, and efficient transportation for the public.
"This expanded schedule demonstrates KCIC's commitment to meeting the growing demand for fast transportation by ensuring accessibility, flexibility, and convenience for passengers," she stated.
