Bologna FC has advanced to the Coppa Italia final. The Rossoblu defeated Empoli FC with an aggregate score of 5-1 in the Coppa Italia semifinal.

In the second leg of the semifinal, which took place on Friday (25/4) at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara in Bologna, the home team won 2-1. Meanwhile, in the first encounter on April 2nd at Empoli's home ground, Bologna claimed a 3-0 victory.

During the match on Friday (25/4), Bologna scored through Giovanni Fabbian (7') and Thijs Dallinga (86'). Empoli's goal was netted by Viktor Kovalenko (33').

“It was an objective, a dream of this city and the club. We achieved something wonderful, honoring the Coppa Italia from the start, because when you get to the final sprint, everyone wants to reach the Final,” Italiano told Sport Mediaset.

“We dedicate this achievement to the crowd in this incredible stadium, who push the lads on from start to finish. We dedicate it to the people of Bologna with all our heart,” said Italiano

Reaching the Coppa Italia final is clearly a historic achievement for Bologna. This is because their last appearance in the final was 51 years ago.

As for Milan, a win in the Coppa Italia would end a 22-year wait. Indeed, the last time the Rossoneri won the Coppa Italia was during the 2002-2003 season. At that time, coach Carlo Ancelotti led the team, including Paolo Maldini and others, to victory in the Coppa Italia.
