The French Embassy in Indonesia, in collaboration with the Alliances Françaises of Indonesia, Business France, and the Disciples Escoffier Indonesia, is thrilled to announce the launch of the third edition of French Gastronomy Week. From October 1 to 13, 2025, the Indonesian archipelago will come alive with the flavors and aromas of French cuisine, featuring Michelin-starred chefs, culinary workshops, and special events.
A Focus on Vocational Training and Expertise
This year's edition of French Gastronomy Week places a strong emphasis on vocational training and the transmission of expertise. Over 16 workshops will be led by trainers from the Centre de Formation d'Apprentis/CFA (Apprentice Training Center) of Poitiers, France, as well as renowned French chefs and experts. These workshops will provide young Indonesian chefs, bakers, and pastry chefs with the opportunity to acquire and perfect their culinary skills.
Culinary Demonstrations and Special Dinners
The event will feature special appearances by Michelin-starred chef Andrée Rosier, who will lead culinary demonstrations and explore the richness of Indonesian spices and cuisine. Chef Rosier will also collaborate with local chefs to host special dinners in Jakarta, Medan, and Yogyakarta.
Promoting Inclusion and Equality
The 2025 edition of French Gastronomy Week aims to promote inclusion and equality in the culinary industry, which is traditionally male-dominated. Chef Rosier's participation is particularly significant, as she is a trailblazer for women in the culinary world.
A Platform for Aspiring Chefs
The event will also feature a French recipe contest open to the public, with the final taking place on October 11 in Jakarta. The ten finalists will be invited to compete for the grand prize, which includes a flight to Paris offered by Emirates Airlines.
Tastin' France: A Professional Event
Business France will organize a professional event, Tastin' France, focused on wine. The opening ceremony and press conference will take place on October 1, featuring a cooking demonstration by Chef Andrée Rosier and Chef Jean-Yves Leuranguer, winner of the 1996 MOF award.
A Celebration of Gastronomy
French Gastronomy Week is a celebration of the universal language of gastronomy, bringing together French and Indonesian cuisine, as well as chefs from around the world. The event is a testament to the power of food to bring people together and promote cultural exchange.
Conclusion
The third edition of French Gastronomy Week promises to be an unforgettable culinary experience, with its focus on vocational training, expertise, and inclusion. We invite foodies, chefs, and anyone passionate about French cuisine to join us in celebrating the flavors and traditions of France.
