Prambanan Jazz Festival (PJF) has announced Henry Moodie as the Day 3 headliner, with his performance in Yogyakarta on July 5 confirmed as his only appearance in Asia this year. The announcement comes as a major surprise for fans across Southeast Asia, where the young British singer has gained a strong following over the past two years through his viral songs on TikTok.

This year marks the 12th edition of PJF, taking place on July 3–5, 2026, at the Prambanan Temple Courtyard in Yogyakarta under the theme Celebrate The Joy. Last year, the festival, held at the UNESCO World Heritage site, attracted 76,000 attendees from both Indonesia and abroad, representing a 55 percent increase from the previous edition.

From TikTok to Prambanan Stage: Meet Viral Star Henry Moodie

Henry James Moodie is a singer-songwriter from Guildford, England, born on April 7, 2004. He began his career on TikTok by uploading song covers before eventually releasing his own material, which quickly drew widespread attention.

His second single, Drunk Text, released in January 2023, gradually gained traction across Southeast Asia about a year after its release, reaching number one in both Malaysia and Indonesia while also entering the Spotify Global 200 chart. In Southeast Asia, the song has achieved 13x platinum certification.

His 2024 promotional tour across Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines also drew more than 6,500 fans from just three busking sessions. To date, Moodie has amassed over 600 million global streams, was listed among the Top 10 most-viewed UK artists on TikTok in both 2022 and 2024, and is currently signed under Columbia Records and Sony UK.

His appearance at PJF 2026 on July 5 is particularly significant as it has been described as his only performance in Asia this year.

More Big Names Incoming

Beyond Henry Moodie, PJF 2026 is also bringing a strong lineup of international acts that fans across Southeast Asia have been eagerly waiting for.

One of them comes from South Korea. Xdinary Heroes, the JYP Entertainment rock band known for blending rock, metal, and electronic sounds, will perform on the first day alongside Michael Learns to Rock, the Danish pop-rock band whose hits such as That’s Why (You Go Away) and 25 Minutes have accompanied generations of Southeast Asian listeners for more than three decades.

Day two will feature NIKI, the Jakarta-born singer-songwriter signed under 88rising who has already appeared at major music festivals across the United States, as well as Joey Alexander, the Bali-born pianist who gained international recognition at the age of 11 and has received two Grammy nominations.

The festival’s closing day is also shaping up to be the most talked-about. The Rose, the South Korean indie-rock band with a massive fanbase in Southeast Asia, was officially announced as a headliner on May 7, 2026. PJF CEO Anas Syahrul Alimi even stated that the group’s appearance was a response to the enthusiasm shown by Indonesia’s Black Rose fan community.
