Tomohon, North Sulawesi, is set to welcome a new stage for music lovers on October 23–24, 2026. The inaugural Tomohon Jazz Festival will take place at Metland Marron Hotel – Taman Kelong, bringing live music to the cool mountain air and scenic landscapes that define the city.

The festival brings together music, nature, culture, and a sense of community. Beyond live performances, visitors can take part in a range of activities, from yoga and pilates sessions under the Wellness Session program to a Kids Playground and Art & Craft Workshop. These activities are designed to make the festival an enjoyable experience for different audiences, including families looking to spend time together.

A Lineup Featuring Some of Indonesia’s Best-Known Acts

The Tomohon Jazz Festival 2026 began drawing attention following the announcement of its Phase 1 lineup. Three artists confirmed to perform across October 23–24 are Kunto Aji, Nadin Amizah, and Wizz Baker, each bringing a distinct musical character to the festival.

Nadin Amizah is known for her poetic lyrics and emotionally resonant songs, while Kunto Aji's music often explores self-reflection and a sense of calm. Wizz Baker, meanwhile, will bring the distinctive sound of eastern Indonesia to the stage, celebrating the region's cultural identity through music.

The excitement grew with the announcement of another major act. Kahitna was confirmed as one of the performers on the festival's opening day, October 23, 2026. The announcement coincided with the opening of Presale 2 ticket sales on August 22, 2026.

Interest in the inaugural festival had already become apparent during the first presale, when Presale 1 tickets reportedly sold out in a short time. The response offers an encouraging early sign that Tomohon could attract music fans from beyond the region, strengthening the organizers' confidence in the festival.

“The enthusiasm shown since the first presale ticket sales has been a positive signal for us. This response shows that Tomohon Jazz Festival has been well received by music lovers. For us, this is an encouragement to continue delivering a high-quality event and creating a memorable experience for every visitor,” said Wahyu Sulistio, Director of PT Metropolitan Land Tbk.

Bringing Live Music into Tomohon’s Natural Landscape

Beyond its lineup, the natural landscape is central to the experience Tomohon Jazz Festival aims to offer. Known for its cool climate and mountainous scenery, Tomohon will provide a distinctive setting through an outdoor stage at Taman Kelong, with Mount Lokon forming the backdrop.

This combination gives the festival its own character. Audiences can enjoy live performances surrounded by the city's natural scenery, making the concert experience part of a broader visit to Tomohon.

The initiative also supports efforts to introduce the city's tourism potential through an event capable of attracting visitors from different regions. Metland Marron Hotel, the first four-star hotel in Tomohon, initiated the festival as part of its support for the Tomohon City Government's efforts to promote the city's natural beauty and tourism attractions.

“We hope this event will also generate a multiplier effect across various business sectors and encourage local economic growth,” Wahyu Sulistio explained.

The anticipated benefits extend beyond the music and tourism industries. Increased visitor numbers during the festival could create opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), food businesses, accommodation providers, transport operators, and other supporting services.

The organizers also expect the event to employ hundreds of local workers throughout its preparation and implementation, with community members and creative groups playing an important role in building a sustainable festival ecosystem.

The Next Tomohon Jazz Festival Lineup Is on the Way

Tomohon Jazz Festival 2026 still has more to reveal, with the Phase 2 lineup set to be announced gradually. Following the sellout of Presale 1 tickets and the opening of Presale 2 sales, audiences are now looking forward to the next artists who will take the stage.

As a first-time event, the festival carries two ambitions. It aims to offer a distinctive way to experience live music amid mountain scenery while creating opportunities to expand Tomohon's tourism appeal and support local businesses through increased visitor activity.

If the plans come to fruition, Tomohon Jazz Festival could mark the beginning of Tomohon's emergence as a new music festival destination in Indonesia.
