South Korean scientists at KAIST have made a groundbreaking discovery in cancer treatment by finding a way to reverse colon cancer cells back into normal ones instead of destroying them.

This innovative approach, led by Professor Kwang-Hyun Cho, focuses on using digital twin technology to simulate and analyze gene interactions, identifying key molecular switches that trigger this transformation.

Unlike traditional treatments that rely on killing cancer cells—often causing severe side effects and increasing the risk of recurrence—this method offers a potentially safer and more effective alternative.

If further research supports these findings, it could revolutionize cancer therapy by shifting the focus from destruction to restoration, providing new hope for patients worldwide.
