For the eighth year in a row, Finland has been named the happiest country in the world, with other Nordic nations like Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden also ranking in the top 10, according to the 2025 World Happiness Report.

Experts credit Finland’s strong social trust, government support, and minimal well-being inequality for ensuring that people across all income levels feel secure and content with their lives.

Interestingly, Costa Rica and Mexico also made the top 10, showing that happiness isn’t just tied to wealth but to meeting basic needs and fostering strong communities.

Meanwhile, the United States dropped from 23rd to 24th place, with younger generations reporting increased loneliness and disconnection, highlighting how meaningful social connections, not just economic factors, play a crucial role in overall happiness.
