Garuda Indonesia has officially claimed the top spot as the world's most punctual airline for March 2026, according to the latest data released by OAG, a leading global aviation analytics firm. The national carrier recorded an outstanding On-Time Performance (OTP) rate of 97.9%, setting a new benchmark in global aviation punctuality.
The achievement places Garuda Indonesia well ahead of its nearest competitor, Japan's Fuji Dream Airlines, which posted an OTP rate of 95.5% for the same period. The significant gap between the two carriers underscores the strength and consistency of Garuda's operational discipline on a worldwide scale.
OTP is a critical metric in the aviation industry used to measure how reliably an airline adheres to its published flight schedules. A flight is classified as on time if it departs or arrives within 15 minutes of its scheduled time, making this standard a direct reflection of passenger experience and operational efficiency.
Supporting this top ranking, Garuda Indonesia also recorded an exceptionally low cancellation rate of just 0.19% out of a total of 6,297 scheduled flights throughout March 2026.
