For the cumulative January to October 2025 period, Indonesia achieved 12.76 million foreign tourist arrivals representing a 10.32% year-on-year increase, with major gateway airports including Ngurah Rai International in Bali, Soekarno-Hatta in Jakarta, and Hang Nadim in Batam serving as the principal entry points for international visitors.
The Indonesian government has set an ambitious target of attracting between 14.6 million and 16 million foreign visitors by the end of 2025, projecting foreign exchange earnings of $19 to $22.1 billion as the tourism sector remains a vital contributor to national economic development.
Hotel occupancy data reflected consistent tourism demand, with BPS reporting that star-rated hotels nationwide achieved a 50.16% room occupancy rate in September 2025, while provinces such as Bali, South Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan recorded occupancy levels exceeding 53%, indicating balanced regional tourism growth beyond traditional hotspots.
