Indonesia's 1st aircraft carrier Giuseppe Garibaldi to serve as helicopter, drone base for disaster response

Indonesia's first aircraft carrier, the Giuseppe Garibaldi, will become a disaster response base. The Indonesian Navy confirmed the Italian-donated ship arrives September 17.

President Prabowo Subianto ordered the vessel's immediate deployment to combat forest fires, stressing the importance of rapid emergency mitigation.

The carrier will house up to 10 medium helicopters, each dropping 4 to 5 tons of water on critical hotspots.
