Japan Railway is set to launch the E10 Shinkansen bullet train by 2030, featuring a sleek exterior inspired by cherry blossoms, designed in collaboration with UK-based Tangerine.
The train’s green livery, with shades of "Tsugaru Green" and "Evening Elm," reflects the natural scenery of the Tohoku region, which the E10 will connect to Tokyo.
Designed for safety and comfort, it includes L-shaped vehicle guides to prevent derailments during earthquakes, lateral dampers to reduce shaking, and an advanced braking system for quicker stops, all tested through JR East’s ALFA-X development platform.
With spacious seating, dedicated wheelchair spaces, power outlets at all seats, and a blowerless induction motor, the E10 represents a step forward in sustainable, efficient, and passenger-friendly transportation for Japan’s high-speed rail network.
