Malaysia launched Asia's first luxury Umrah cruise program named IslamiCruise in partnership with Saudi Arabia's Aroya Cruises, offering a 15-day spiritual journey from Port Klang to Jeddah with stops in Banda Aceh, Oman, and the Maldives, though the January–February 2026 inaugural voyage has been rescheduled.

The fully halal-certified cruise accommodates over 3,500 passengers with amenities including swimming pools, water slides, miniature golf, and spiritual enrichment lectures by Ustaz Wadi Anuar from Malaysia and Ustaz Abdul Somad from Indonesia, while providing four accommodation types from standard cabins to luxury suites and villas.

IslamiCruise International announced on November 19, 2025, that sales have been temporarily suspended and the inaugural voyage rescheduled after assessments indicated the need to restructure routes and packages to better align with market demand and school holiday seasons.

Officially recognized as a Visit Malaysia 2026 tourism product, the program targets attracting 6,000 to 8,000 visitors and is expected to significantly boost Malaysia's tourism economy while strengthening its position in the global halal tourism sector.

The company remains in discussions with Aroya Cruises owners to finalize a new commercially suitable sailing schedule, with the revised launch date to be announced once an official agreement is reached between both parties.
