Around 58,873–59,000 Indonesian umrah pilgrims have been affected by travel disruptions as tensions in the Middle East escalated after large-scale Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iran triggered tighter security and flight adjustments.

Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs, through its Hajj and Umrah authorities, said flights to and from Saudi Arabia have been impacted as several airlines rerouted, delayed, or revised schedules as a precaution, disrupting both departures and returns.

Puji Raharjo, Director General for Hajj and Umrah Management, cited Siskopatuh data showing about 58,873 Indonesian pilgrims are currently in Saudi Arabia, and urged pilgrims and families to remain calm and rely only on official updates from licensed Umrah Travel Organizers (PPIU).

The government said it is coordinating with Indonesian representatives in Saudi Arabia, including the Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah, and has deployed operational teams at key airports to assist pilgrims facing delays or schedule changes due to airspace restrictions.

Major transit hubs such as Doha, Dubai, and Bahrain have reported significant disruptions, and the public has been warned not to spread unverified information as travel policies may shift depending on security developments and airline operations.
