The UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said it has seen no evidence so far that Iran’s nuclear installations were damaged or hit after recent U.S. and Israeli strikes, according to Director General Rafael Grossi during an extraordinary Board of Governors session in Vienna.

Grossi said the IAEA has “no indication” key sites such as the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant and the Tehran Research Reactor were struck, while noting the situation remains fluid and under close observation.

He added that communication with Iranian authorities has been limited since the strikes began, so the IAEA has relied on satellite imagery and other available data, and has not seen signs of significant military activity targeting nuclear facilities.

Iran’s ambassador to the IAEA, Reza Najafi, claimed the Natanz facility was attacked but did not provide details, as the IAEA noted inspectors are not currently in Iran and access to sites like Natanz has been restricted since last year’s conflict.

Separately, the IAEA has also said it has found no evidence that Iran is running a coordinated programme to build a nuclear weapon, even as it reported Iran has enriched uranium to 60% purity, and Grossi urged restraint and a quick return to diplomacy, including resuming Iran–U.S. talks.
